mun nursing charity ball and nlbia

On behalf of the Newfoundland and Labrador Brain Association, survivors and families, I would like to take this opportunity to thank the MUN Student Nurses for choosing our association as this years recipient of their fundraising efforts. The 23rd Annual Nurses Charity Ball was held Saturday, March 27th and although an online event it was certainly enjoyable one.
I commend the student nurses on their dedication and professionalism and through their hard work and many activities our association to date will receive approximately $12,600. It has been the association’s privilege and pleasure to work with you all and a special thank you to Ashley Hatcher and Kaitlyn Bishop who are the coordinators for this event. As with many organizations, our sustainability relies on the the efforts of others through fundraising and donations and our Programs and Services will greatly benefit from these proceeds.
The future for these young men and women is I’m sure a bright one and the Newfoundland and Labrador Brain Injury Association wish you all the best.
Congratulations to the graduating Class of 2022.
Marina White
President of NLBIA

ALL BRAINS ARE BEAUTIFUL!

June is Brain Injury Awareness Month in Newfoundland and Labrador! This year our theme is “All Brains Are Beautiful” to emphasize that anyone can experience a brain injury and all brain injury survivors endure ongoing challenges from this significant life changing event. Whether major or minor, all are beautiful and deserve the treatment to enjoy everyday of their life.

During the whole month we have two events!

First, we are looking for participants to do a virtual walk, ride or run with us! Participants are encouraged to set their own fundraising goals to match their activity, perhaps you could have every kilometer equal 25 brain dollars raised!

Participants’ photos and stories of their fundraising fitness event and brain dollars raised will be posted on our website and social media.

Sign up today! Go to our contact page and add subject , ALL BRAINS ARE BEAUTIFUL

COVID 19
The NL Brain Injury Association was to conduct a 50/50 draw on April 17th, 2020 and has now delayed this with licence authorization until December 15, 2020 or until all 4000 tickets are sold. We have also had to cancel our Brain Basics Training Seminar that was due to take place June 2020. Regretfully, we have also had to temporarily lay off our valuable staff due to the recent pandemic and look forward to having them back soon. Our board of directors are still available to anyone who may need to contact the organization. In the meantime, if any survivor requires special assistance please contact the NL Mental Health Crisis Line at (709) 737-4668. We would like to thank all who participated so far in our Spring draw and all of our donors as well. If you require any further assistance please don’t hesitate to contact us at info@nlbia.ca or visit our website
